I am a teacher for undergraduate BS and MS students in fluid mechanics, biofluid mechanics, thermodynamics and numerical methods at the Mechanical Engineering departement at UCBL.
My research topics are currently oriented towards Patient-Specific Computational Hemodynamics: Basically a real arterial geometry is obtained through medical imaging and a full hemodynamical simulation is carried on the pathological artery.

Thanks to patient-specific numerical simulations, cardiovascular pathologies are studied to predict outcomes and help surgeons with intervention decision making:

  • Extern iliac artery endofibrosis pathology appears in the high level biking athlets due to kinking of the extern iliac artery in the leg. This study is made in collaboration with Pr. Patrick Feugier, head of cardiovascular repair departement at Edouard Herriot hospital in Lyon.
  • Stent deployment in the upper part of the thoracic aorta subject to a aneuvrism is modelled and simulated to enhanced stent positioning during endosurgery and outcomes like endoleaks after surgery. This study project is resulting from a collaboration between various labs in Lyon’s area and company: LMFA (for hemodynamics), LAMCOS (for arterial elasticity and stent deployment), LabECAM (for material characterization), Créatis (for medical imaging) and two hospitals in Lyon area (Edouard Herriot and Croix-Rousse)
